WebTechor is a freelance business offering website design, website development, WordPress development, UI/UX design, speed optimization, bug fixing, website maintenance and WooCommerce store development to clients in India and abroad. For the purposes of applicable data protection law, WebTechor is the “Data Fiduciary” / “Data Controller” for personal data collected through this Website.

2. Information I collect

a) Information you give me

When you fill in the contact / quote form, send an email, call, message me on WhatsApp or social media, leave a blog comment, or become a client, I may collect:

• Contact details: your name, email address, phone / WhatsApp number.
• Project information: service needed, budget range, project details, business name, existing website URL, and any files, content, images or logos you send me.
• Client account details: billing name, address, GST number (if provided) and payment records needed for invoicing.
• Access credentials: if you hire me, you may share hosting, domain, WordPress admin or other login details needed to complete the work (see Section 8).
• Blog comments: name, email, website (optional) and the comment you post.

b) Information collected automatically

When you browse the Website, some information is collected automatically by my hosting server and analytics tools, such as:

• IP address, approximate location (city/country), browser type, device type and operating system;
• pages you visit, time spent on pages, referring website or search term, and clicks on buttons (such as “Get Free Quote”, call or WhatsApp);
• date and time of your visit, and technical logs used for security and troubleshooting.

c) Information I do NOT collect

I do not knowingly collect sensitive data such as health information, religious beliefs, biometric data or full card/bank details through this Website. Please do not send such information via the contact form.

3. How I use your information

• To reply to your enquiry, schedule a call and send you a quote or proposal.
• To plan, design, develop, launch, maintain and support your website project.
• To send invoices, collect payments and keep accounting and tax records.
• To communicate about your project by email, phone or WhatsApp.
• To understand how visitors use the Website so I can improve its content, speed and user experience.
• To protect the Website from spam, fraud and security threats.
• To comply with legal obligations under Indian law (for example, tax and accounting rules).
• With your permission, to showcase completed work in my portfolio (see Section 8).

To run this Website and my business, I use trusted third-party services. They may process limited data on my behalf under their own privacy policies:

• Google Analytics & Google Site Kit – website traffic statistics. Google Privacy Policy
• Google Workspace / Gmail – receiving and replying to emails.
• WhatsApp (Meta) – when you click the WhatsApp button or message me. WhatsApp Privacy Policy
• Contact Form 7 (WordPress plugin) – handles contact form submissions, which are sent to my email.
• Web hosting provider – stores the Website and keeps server/security logs.
• Social platforms – Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, if you visit my profiles or contact me there.
• Payment methods – payments made by bank transfer, UPI or a payment gateway are processed by your bank or that provider. I do not store your card or bank login details.

7. When I share your information

I do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. I may share it only:

• with the service providers listed above, only as needed to run the Website and deliver services;
• with trusted collaborators (for example, a copywriter or designer) when needed for your project, and only with your knowledge;
• when required by law, court order or a government authority in India;
• to protect my rights, property or safety, or that of my clients and visitors;
• with your explicit consent.

8. Client website & project data

• Login credentials: any hosting, domain, WordPress or third-party login details you share are used only for your project, are kept confidential, and are not shared with anyone else. I recommend that you change your passwords after the project or support period ends.
• Your website’s data: while working on your website, I may have access to data stored on it (such as customer orders, form entries or user accounts). I access it only as needed to do the work you have asked for and do not copy, use or share it for any other purpose.
• Backups: backups made during development or maintenance are stored securely and deleted when no longer needed.
• Your own privacy obligations: as the website owner, you remain responsible for your website’s privacy policy and for how you collect and use your own customers’ data.
• Portfolio: I may show completed projects (screenshots, website link, a short description) in my portfolio. If you would prefer your project not to be shown, just let me know and I will keep it private or remove it. Testimonials are published only with your permission.

9. How long I keep your data

• Enquiries that don’t become projects: up to 24 months, then deleted.
• Client and project records: for the duration of our work together and as long as needed for support.
• Invoices and financial records: for as long as Indian tax and accounting laws require (generally up to 8 years).
• Analytics data: according to the Google Analytics retention setting (up to 14 months).
• Blog comments: until the comment is removed by you or by me.

You may ask me to delete your data earlier, unless I must keep it to meet a legal obligation.

10. Data security

I take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information, including an SSL-secured (HTTPS) Website, regular WordPress and plugin updates, strong passwords and two-factor authentication where possible, spam protection, and restricted access to client data. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, so I cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach affects your personal data, I will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

11. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

• Access – ask what personal data I hold about you.
• Correction – ask me to correct or update inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erasure – ask me to delete your data.
• Withdraw consent – at any time, without affecting earlier processing.
• Grievance redressal – raise a complaint with me, and, if not resolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.
• Nominate – nominate another person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity (under the DPDP Act).
• EU / UK visitors – additionally, the rights to restrict or object to processing, data portability, and to complain to your local data protection authority.

12. International visitors

I am based in India and work with clients worldwide. If you contact me from outside India, your information will be transferred to and processed in India, and may also be stored on servers of the service providers listed above in other countries. I take reasonable steps to make sure your data stays protected in line with this Policy.

13. Children’s privacy

This Website and my services are intended for businesses and adults. I do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 years of age. If you believe a child has shared personal data with me, please contact me and I will delete it.

The Website may contain links to client websites, portfolio projects, social media profiles and other third-party websites. I am not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those websites. Please read their privacy policies before sharing any information.

15. Marketing communication

I will not add you to any newsletter or send you promotional messages without your consent. Occasionally, I may follow up on an enquiry you made or share important updates about a service you use (such as a maintenance plan). You can ask me to stop such messages at any time by replying “STOP” or emailing me.
